What to do? I have heard that Kingston RAM does not have this same problem in these particular netbooks, although I haven't had the time to investigate this first hand.
Note that this isn't really a problem with this RAM, which is why I still gave it a good rating. It's more of an Asus problem than a Crucial problem.

There's no excuse not to get the most out of your netbook by getting a 2GB module.

Good RAM
Not a lot you can say about good RAM. It was quick and simple to install in my HP mini 210 and my netbook is running great with increased performance. What more can someone ask for? 2010-03-18

NOT 100% compatible with some Asus netbooks
I bought this as a recommended upgrade for my Asus EEE 1001P netbook. While it does indeed work and the computer boots up just fine, it does not change clock speeds gracefully while in operation. Why should you care? Well the claimed 8-10 hour battery life of these netbooks is dependent on the software's ability to underclock the RAM and processor when not needed for heavy lifting. Asus calls this their "super hybrid engine". If you disable the super hybrid engine or just leave it in one of the performance modes then this RAM works fine. However when using the Auto mode the computer will not shut down properly. What happens is the screen turns off, but the power never actually turns off eventually killing your battery.

Good product!
Easy to install in my hp mini 110. O/S recognized increased memory without the need for upgrading the bios. Provides small difference in system performance. 2010-03-17

Works great and is a must for netbook owners
I just bought a Dell Inspiron iM1012-799OBK Mini 1012 10.1-Inch Netbook (Obsidian Black) and dropped in a 2GB module (takes 5 mins) and compared it against my friend's Acer Aspire One - both running Windows 7 and it was amazing to see the contrast between 1GB of RAM vs 2GB of RAM. Netbooks aren't the speediest, but the netbook is more responsive and quicker between clicking/moving. Firefox/IE doesn't take its sweet time anymore and you're able to surf a lot quicker.

Great upgrade
I have a new Acer 1410 w/ 2X1GB of ram. I used this product to upgrade to 2X3GB. Installation was a breeze. Computer instantly recognized the new memory. I am off to the races. 2010-03-15
